a few things i run.

join: java edition

  1. open minecraft java edition and sign in with your microsoft account.
  2. click multiplayer. accept the safety notice if it shows up.
  3. click add server. you can use direct connection instead to join once without saving it.
  4. name it anything. for server address enter play.zqpvr.net:16541. the port after the colon is needed.
  5. click done, pick the server in the list, then click join server.

says outdated or incompatible? your game version has to match the server's. ask me which one it runs.

join: bedrock edition

  1. open minecraft (bedrock) on windows, android, ios or ipados.
  2. click play, open the servers tab and scroll to the bottom.
  3. click add server.
  4. name it anything. address: geyser.zqpvr.net and port: 43221.
  5. save it, pick the server in the list, then join.

xbox, playstation and switch can't type in server addresses. join through a friend who is already on the server from a phone or pc, or use a bedrockconnect dns workaround. bedrock uses udp, so some school and work networks block it.
